Volunteering
The hospice movements worldwide would not survive without the extraordinary commitment given by thousands of volunteers. Men and woman from all walks of life give their time and energy to support their local hospice communities.
Volunteers take on huge variety of roles and responsibilities. Volunteers are involved in facilitating day care activities, bereavement support, home and hospital visits with the team, gardening, and providing support in the fund raising department. Volunteers may get involved with a hospice after a relative or friend has been cared for, they have retired, have some time on their hands or just want to put something back into their community.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact us and ask for how you can help.
Tell your Friends
Sadly there are still many people who are unaware of the very comprehensive support that is now available in Hospice. You can help by telling your friends and colleagues about Hospice and Palliative Care.
Support our Fundraising Events
Take part in our fundraising events. The Hospice regularly runs sponsored fundraising events and activities which include walks and golf tournaments. Check our news and events page for details of upcoming activities or call us at the Hospice to find out what’s on.
Become a Friend of the Hospice
Join us by becoming a friend of the Hospice. Individuals can become friends at Kshs. 1,000 per year. Corporate organizations are not left out either. You can also join us as friends at Kshs. 10,000 per year. You can download the friendship for, or fill it online below.
Adopt the Coast Hospice
You may wish to adopt the Hospice services, or adopt a patient(s) monthly care of medical costs. You can do so and donate Kshs. 5,000 and Kshs. 3,000 respectively. You can contact us for further details.
Daycare Activities
The Hospice holds a daycare for patients once every week on Wednesdays. This enables patients to meet one another and share experiences. It also breaks the monotony of staying at home, and also gives carers some respite. During daycare, patients are entertained, given refreshments and lunch. You can support our daycare by volunteering your service, by donating foodstuff and refreshments. For more information please contact us.
Other Donations
The Hospice relies wholly on donor support and well wishers. You can donate to the Hospice items which include drugs, medical supplies, wheel chairs, clothes, foodstuff, stationary and equipment and monetary donations.
If you are interested in donating, please contact Abigael Mwangi, the Admin/Finance officer on aby.m@coasthospice.or.ke
